Float tube, sunshine, light wind, and rainbows. Caught several fish in the 18-20 inch range before I went home. No camera. Favorite fish of the day came last. I saw him swim under me and I had my fly in my hand so I dropped it behind me and......BAMMYJAMMYWHAMMYSLAMMYWILLYOUBEMYGRAMMYSAMMYILOSTMINEINVIETNAMMY!!! I watched him fly out of the water with my very first hand tied caddis imitation. He flew out of the water several more times before he tired. With only a few feet of line out anyway, most of his flights took place right between my knees. It's a good life. Sorry about no camera.

Also of note: At least three stonefly larvae crawled out of the water onto my tube and they shed their skins and flew away. Apparently it takes about forty minutes for them to dry out enough for flight. Fascinating.

I have a hard time balancing the float tube, rod, gear, myself, fish and a camera in such a way to produce a half decent picture. I deleted a bunch of pictures I took on solo float tubing trips because they all looked like snot. So unless I go with someone, I leave the camera in the car...not to mention the splash factor.
