The Mad Fishicist

Bolokai Ikonus T. T. The Mad Fishicist. Some people ask where did the nickname "The Mad Fishicist" come from. Well, I have to take credit for coining the name. The obvious derivation from "mad scientist" came to me based on two concepts. The first being his ability to catch fish when and where others struggle. There have been plenty of days when everyone figuratively (catch-and-release) leaves a day of fishing empty handed...the Mad Fishicist would figure out what combination of fly or flesh would land a prize. The second concept was my early experiences with Bolokai's fishing apparel and the likeness it created. He consistently wore a hooded sweatshirt (until he got his prized rain coat) and would wear the hood to block the sunlight from the sides of his sunglasses to optimize the polarization and give him all the advantage he needed to come out on top. As your 31st birthday quickly approaches, I salute you Bolokai. You are the Mad Fishicist, the Unafisher.
